Next, push the sear spring pin out. The slide normally keeps this pin in place:


With the hammer pin removed, the safety will fall loosely into the frame. Note the position of the safety and the rounded part of the opening. The internal part of the safety seems almost too large to remove through the hole, but it’s a matter of getting it into the correct position. When the safety is rotated to the correct position, it can be lifted out of the frame with absolutely no force applied. I stress this because the previous owner of my first Buck Mark didn’t grasp the concept. The result was a safety.
